Day Mountain bike trip in Kathmandu is a scenic cycling route around the valley. The ride to Shivapuri from Kathmandu starts at Balaju (2 kilometers north of Thamel). Balaju chowk is a busy junction at the Foothills of Nagarjuna in the northern section of Kathmandu’s Ring Road it is also our starting point for the trip. From here we follow the highway towards Trishuli and head towards the road to Kakani which is at an altitude of 2073 meters, approximately 23 kilometers away.

The road passes through the twists and turns of the Nagarjuna National Park. A short break admiring the flora and fauna along with some refreshments will be a good. After riding another for few kilometers of the steep hill, you reach Kakani. With lots of tea houses around, stopping for lunch with splendid views of the mountains and forests is like an icing on a delicious cake!
